Lumbre

Privacy Policy

What we keep, and why.

Version 2026-11-05.

In short: Lumbre keeps no recording or transcript of any service, and listeners don’t need an account. We keep what we need to run your account and bill you, and we never sell anyone’s information.

1. Who we are

Lumbre is provided by Functional Form LLC (f-or-m). This policy covers lumbre.live, every organization’s Lumbre address, and the service behind them.

2. Your services

While a service is live, its audio is sent from your device to Lumbre and to our translation provider, and the translated text and voice are sent to your listeners. Lumbre holds all of it only in memory, for as long as the service runs. When the service stops, Lumbre discards it: we keep no recording and no transcript, of any service, for any customer. Our translation provider’s own handling is in section 6.

What we do keep about a service is how it ran, not what was said: when it started and stopped, the hours it used, how many listeners joined, and which languages ran.

3. Listeners

Listeners don’t sign in, and Lumbre doesn’t ask for their name, email or anything else about them. Their phone keeps their own display choices, such as light or dark and text size, on the device. A technical cookie spreads their audio across our servers; it identifies no one. Like every website, our host sees each device’s internet address when it connects, to deliver the page and protect the service.

4. Account holders and operators

  • Your account: your name, email address and password, which we store only in a hashed form, or the identity Google or Apple gives us when you sign in with them, and your organization’s name.
  • Billing: your plan, its status, and your invoices. Card details go straight to Stripe, our payment processor, and never reach us.
  • Operators: the labels you give operator codes, and when each was used.
  • Email: the messages we send you about your account, billing and hours, and whether they were delivered.
  • Records of use: sign-ins and changes to your account, kept for security.

5. How we use it

To provide Lumbre, to bill for it, to tell you about your account, billing and hours, to keep the service secure and prevent abuse, and to understand in aggregate how Lumbre is used so we can make it better. We don’t sell personal information, and we show no ads.

6. Who helps us run Lumbre

  • Cloudflare hosts Lumbre, its databases and its delivery to listeners.
  • OpenAI, our translation provider, receives a service’s audio live to translate it. It doesn’t train its models on this data by default, and keeps no recording of the session. It may keep the audio and its transcript for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse, and during that time authorized OpenAI staff may review it for that purpose.
  • Stripe processes payments and calculates sales tax.
  • Resend sends our email.
  • Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.

Each receives only what it needs for its part, and is bound by its own terms to protect it.

7. How long we keep it

Service audio and transcripts: not at all, beyond the live service. Account information: for as long as your account is open, and 90 days after you close it. Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, seven years.

8. Your choices

You can see and change your account details at any time, and close your account from its settings. To ask for a copy of your information, or for it to be deleted, write to support@lumbre.live. Depending on where you live, your state’s privacy law may give you further rights over your personal information. Write to us and we’ll honor them.

9. Children

Accounts are for adults. Listeners of any age can follow a service, and since listeners give us no information about themselves, we collect none about children.

10. Security

Everything travels encrypted, passwords are stored only in hashed form, payment and translation keys never reach a browser, and access to account data is limited to what running Lumbre requires.

11. Changes

This policy describes what Lumbre does now. If we add features that change what we collect or keep, we’ll update this policy before they ship.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell account holders by email before it applies, and the new version will be posted here with its date.
